Episode VIII - Oktoberfest

Actually it was Oktoberfest in November, but it most likely had been postponed due to the rains. I went on Saturday evening had some beer, and like most Oktobrfests it had a huge variety of beers to sample....like one. That's right they only had kingfisher and that too only one type of the UB produced beverage... and I thought that this is the first one so they must be keeping it in the spirit of the one that takes place in Germany where only six brands are allowed to serve thier various beers. Of course the festival now takes place in Germany mostly during September.

Overall the event was kind of stupid, but the music got pretty good when a band called Moksha performed. They were tight(as in good) and they played mostly metal and some lighter rock from Floyd and some 70's tunes I can't seem to recall now....must have been the beer. Not that the beer was strong but that it was bad...The only beer in India that I have liked is called BIO Beer. So I must say the evening would have sucked had it not been for that band.

What I found very interesting was that they allowed "live Music" and Alchohol at the same time at the same place. This actually goes against what the government has been allowing here. The organizers must have somehow been able to convince the government "wink wink."

Cheers,

Deepak
